MAK DRDO ABD ST (Bio septic Tank) – Warranties & Condition
We appreciate your trust in the MAK DRDO ABD Septic Tank, which is designed using reinforced cement concrete (RCC) and equipped with DRDO’s patented Anaerobic Microbial Inoculum (AMI) technology. Please read the warranty terms carefully to understand the coverage and responsibilities.
Warranty Coverage
The system consists of two primary components, each with its own warranty terms:
- Warranty for the MAK DRDO ABD Septic Tank
- Coverage: 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
- Material: The tank is made of reinforced cement concrete (RCC) designed for durability.
- Exclusions: Damage caused by external factors such as natural calamities, improper use, or the movement of heavy vehicles over the tank is not covered.
- Remedy: In the event of damage, the tank can be replaced at the customer’s expense.
- Warranty for the Anaerobic Microbial Inoculum (AMI)
- Coverage: Lifetime warranty with self-regeneration capability.
- Nature of AMI: The bacteria used in the tank are naturally occurring microorganisms that sustain themselves as long as a proper environment is maintained. Similar to the human race, they thrive with adequate nourishment.
- Exclusions: The warranty does not cover bacterial loss or death under the following conditions:
- Excessive Water Flow:
- If a water line breaks or if there is a high influx of water (e.g., 800 liters in under 3 hours for a 10-user tank), the bacteria may be flushed out.
- Rainwater entering the tank through the outlet pipe may also cause a washout.
- Use of Harsh Chemicals:
- Avoid using acids (concentration >100 ppm), phenols, or any non-recommended cleaning agents. While the bacteria can tolerate most detergents manufactured in India as per ISO standards, severe chemicals can kill them.
- Prolonged Inactivity:
- If the toilet remains unused for over 3 months, the bacteria may die due to starvation. Although the bacteria can revive themselves from dormant mode, in rare cases, a top-up may be required.
- Disposal of Non-Biodegradable Items:
- Throwing items such as plastic, paper, sanitary napkins, diapers, cigarette butts, condoms, medical waste, or chemicals into the toilet may suffocate and kill the bacteria.
- Remedy: If the bacteria are damaged due to any of the above reasons, the tank will need to be flushed, and a fresh inoculum will be added at the customer’s expense.
